Dear friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I reach out to share some deeply upsetting news about my beloved cat, Todd. On January 18, he greeted me with his usual warmth and affection, but I noticed a lesion on his belly that raised immediate concern. As any loving pet owner would, I took him to the veterinarian the very next day, where we received the distressing news that he was suffering from low platelet counts—a condition that can be critical and even life-threatening if not treated promptly.
As we anxiously awaited the results of further tests, I began to notice Todd behaving unusually; he seemed disoriented and was losing his balance. My worry escalated, prompting another visit to the vet, where we learned that he was also experiencing neurological issues that required specialized treatment.
The toll of his medical care has been overwhelming, and his hospital bills have already reached approximately $9,000 as of now. This financial burden is incredibly challenging, but what weighs heavier on my heart is the thought of losing Todd. He is not just a pet; he is family. He has been my unwavering rock through moments of joy, sorrow, illness, and everything in between.
I understand that times are tough for everyone, and any assistance you can offer—whether through sharing this message or contributing to his medical expenses—would mean the world to me. Your support would not only help cover Todd's treatment but also bring hope during this challenging time. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any help you can provide.
With gratitude,
Natalie
(Update January 27th)
After a week of this nightmare, Todd has been stabilized by blood transfusions to help his body recover, as we await for his body to react to the current medication (steroids to suppress the immune system) in order to help his body produce the platelets it needs. Per transfusion and care is about $1500. I’ve been trying my best to keep him stable and at home, but the situation is rough.
This is most definitely a waiting game and I’m hoping his body begins to respond quickly to the medication.
Thank you again
