In the summer of 2026, with his GCSE's over, Toby will be going to Ensenada, Mexico. The trip is coordinated by a charity called M10 Missions. Now this is not a holiday... the 10 day trip is designed to help those in communities in extreme poverty and most in need while also giving Toby an opportunity to experience new cultures, meet new people, develop personal skills and character and see how his work on the trip can have a life changing impact.
During the 10 days in Ensenada, Toby will be stay at the YWAM (Youth With A Mission) base, which provides a safe and supportive environment for the team. His itinerary includes a variety of projects aimed at supporting the local community:
- Building a Home: A 2-day house build for a family living in extreme poverty. This isn’t just about building a house; it’s about providing hope and a new beginning for a family in need.
- Orphanages and Rehab Centers: Spend time with children in orphanages and individuals in rehab centers, offering support, care, and companionship.
- Delivering Essentials: Visit a dumpsite to distribute food and supplies to those living there, bringing immediate relief to families facing harsh conditions.
- Serving the Homeless: Prepare and deliver food to homeless individuals in Ensenada, offering kindness and nourishment to those who need it most.
- Practical support on projects: such as painting, construction jobs and gardening.

Now for the tricky part. It will cost nearly £3,000 for Toby to take part in the mission. This covers the usual things like flights, food (at least £2,500 of this judging by what Toby can eat!) and accommodation but also contributions to the costs of materials for the house build, provisions for the homeless and the extensive training and preparation that the group will undertake over the course of the next year.
