As some of you may have heard through various news outlets, Tobey was the victim of a senseless and random attack on September 9 while walking home from football practice at Westdale Secondary School in Hamilton.
Despite being frightened and injured, Tobey showed incredible courage. He was able to call 911 himself and provide police with a detailed description of his attacker, which ultimately led to an arrest. We are incredibly grateful that Tobey is alive and has the opportunity to heal from this traumatic experience.
In the aftermath of this incident, Tobey’s mother, Rachel, who is self-employed and owns @the_rabbit_hole_beauty, is having to step away from work to be by her son’s side and support him through his physical and emotional recovery.
At this time, we are asking for support from our community. Any donation, no matter the amount, would help Rachel and the family cover rent, bills, groceries, and other essential expenses while she takes the time away from work that Tobey needs and deserves.
This was a violent, senseless, and completely random act that has deeply affected Tobey and his family. Right now, our priority is giving Tobey the safety, stability, love, and undivided attention he needs to heal and find his footing in the world again.
If you are able to contribute, thank you. If you aren’t in a position to donate, sharing this message is just as appreciated.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out, offered support, checked in, and kept Tobey and his family in your thoughts. Your kindness means more than we can put into words. ❤️
