Hi, welcome, Gambian Projects needs your help!

If you don't know who we are or what we do, please check us out on Facebook or Google. We send charity aid to The Gambia, West Africa, to help support people living in abject poverty. We sponsor children through school, set up micro-businesses and support children and their families when needs arise. This includes providing food and medical aid in times of urgency. We are a tiny registered charity where 100% of donations go exactly where they are intended to go. We don't have salaried team members and certainly no CEO!!

Over the past 24 months we have been collecting a colossal amount of items donated by kind and compassionate family and friends in the UK. These items include:

Essential clothing for children and babies, shoes, school resources, books, toys, medical supplies, bedding and towels, cooking utensils, toiletries, sanitary products, arts and crafts materials, the list goes on and now we need your support to get these donations where they are desperately needed.

Our storage units are filled to the brim and we now need to ship this huge consignment to The Gambia. The costs are huge and have increased with all the things going on around the world. However, the contents of this container will change lives and may even save lives; your donated items make a huge difference and are desperately needed in one of the poorest countries in the world where nothing useful gets thrown away.

When we've raised the amount needed which is currently £4500 we will be able to book the transporter to come to Hackworthy's storage depot in Plymouth with an empty 40ft container and we then have 3 hours to pack everything in. Many people have come together to do this in the past as this is the 9th container we will have shipped. Our gratitude is abundant as we can not do this mammoth task without you. This may sadly be the last full container we ship. This is due to the hike in storage and shipping costs and the huge amount of work and energy involved in collecting, sorting and packing the donations in the storage units before transferring them into the container on packing day. Also the port clearing and transporting costs at the Gambia end.

This fundraiser is being administered through me, Debbie Williams, as doing it through the charity can take 90 days to receive the funds and we need this container shipped asap.
