Support Brain Injury Recovery – This One’s for You, Mam.
In 2022, my Mam went for an MRI that changed everything. After months of headaches and hospital visits, we received devastating news—she had a brain tumor. Surgery removed a third of her brain, and she was placed in a medically induced coma for three weeks.
When she woke up, she couldn’t speak, move, or recognize us. Despite therapy, infections, and three brain surgeries, doctors saw little hope. But we refused to give up. After months at the NRH, she began to regain her voice, her smile, and even the ability to sit upright.
Still, she was moved to a nursing home, where she struggled deeply. But in 2024, she found care and dignity at Saint Doolagh’s.
We’re running this marathon to raise funds for those affected by brain injuries and their families. The journey is tough, but hope is stronger.
This one’s for you, Mam.
