Yesterday morning (31st Dec 18) my brother in law Paul Butler lost his battle to cancer.

Paul was taken at such a young age at only 48 but fought this awful disease over the last 14 months in private and with dignity. He knew he had the love and support from all his friends and family

Paul was diagnosed with lung cancer which had spread to his brain and after lung surgery and pioneering gamma knife surgery to his brain there was hope and a battle to win.
Unfortunately during the last three months the cancer had spread and even with the cutting edge treatment and specialised care, the disease was relentless.
During this time he was under the care of a fantastic consultant, Doctors and Nurses at UCLH London and Princess Alexandra Hospital Harlow. We can never thank them enough.
More recently during the last 12 days at St. Clare Hospice Harlow The Doctors and nurses did everything they could to make Paul comfortable and we are all appreciative of their help and support. Not only for Paul but for Donna and Harry.
Paul’s fight and massive determination and character just wasn’t enough. Paul leaves his wife Donna (my sister) and his 7 year old son Harry, both are absolutely devastated and will miss him hugely.

For all those that knew Paul you will know what I say to be true. He was a great guy, full of fun and mischief, so very kind and generous and if he could help a friend or do a favour he would.
To help Donna and Harry get through this tough time and to get 2019 off to a better start it would be great if we can raise some money to help her financially and enable her to support Harry going forward.
In addition Paul had always wanted to take Harry to Disney world Florida but didn’t have the time. Any donations would help go towards this and enable Donna to take Harry when the time is right.

If you can donate it would be greatly appreciated and please share to make Paul’s many friends aware.
