My friend, Edwin, needs help. I’ve known Edwin for 10 years. He’s a skilled laborer, an incredibly hard worker, and sends most of his earnings home to his extended family in Guatemala. I consider him to be part of my urban family here in DC.

Edwin called me in dire need– he’s been detained due to his immigration status. I want to help him with his legal fees but I can’t do it alone. I’m asking whether you’d be willing to give $20, $50, or whatever amount you’re comfortable with.
