On Tuesday January 9, 2024 during the storm that came through Tallahassee, FL a tree fell on my dad’s home and did extensive damage to it which rendered it inhabitable. Dad is 75 years old with multiple chronic illnesses, including cancer. He has had to maintain working part time cutting yards just to pay for his health insurance and cancer drugs. He has never asked for help with anything until now. Dad grew up and has lived on the property where his house was for most of his life. It is where he is the happiest and it gives him a sense of purpose. He is very independent and does not like having to depend on others. We are trying to raise money to help him clean up from the destruction of the tree and his home and buy him something new to live in. We want him to be able to keep his independence, stay on the property, and have his own home to live in.

My dad has always helped anyone who needs him. He is the kindest most gentle hearted person that I know. He is never quick to anger and never panics. He really takes everything in stride and knows without a shadow of a doubt that God is in control of everything and that he orders his steps each and every day.

He has been a member of St. Peter Primitive Baptist Church for 37 years and serves as the Chairman of the Trustee board.

He is known by many from his 27 years of working to develop Killearn Properties. As stated earlier, since leaving Killearn Properties he has continued to work part time to take care of himself. Dad is known by his friends and family as a God-fearing man that has taken care of his family since he was a young man. He is a quiet, honest and trustworthy man that treats other people the way he wants to be treated. He has taught so many of us how to be a true man of God.
