Hi my name is Holly Quill. I’m a transition year (TY) student with the Loreto secondary school, Wexford. As part of my TY program myself and some of my fellow students are hoping go to South Africa with the Mellon Educate Transition year volunteer programme 2026.

The mission behind this volunteer programme is to improve eduction in under resourced communities. We will be doing our work experience in Cape Town which is the country’s 2nd largest city. Our work experience on the Mellon Educate programme will include;

 * Light construction and renovation of schools
* Supporting early literacy through one-on-one tutoring
* Assisting with school feeding programmes
* Engaging directly with local students and teachers

I look forward to the opportunity of visiting some of the local schools to engage and form friendships with boys and girls of my own age whilst learning about and experiencing their culture and local traditions and educating them on some of our own cultures and traditions.

I need to raise €3,500 in total and I would appreciate your assistance in helping me to achieve this financial goal.

If you could share my fundraiser with your family and friends I would really appreciate it.

Thank you,
 Holly Q
