The Velvet Circle – A Safe Space for LGBTQ+ & Neurodivergent People
The Velvet Circle started as a simple idea: a place where LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent people could show up, be themselves, and feel safe. No pressure. No judgment. Just community, connection, and a sense of belonging that so many of us have spent years searching for.
What began as a Facebook group has grown into something much bigger — friendships, support networks, meetups, and a space where people finally feel seen. And now, we’re ready to take the next step.
To keep growing and to access the grants that will help us run more events, improve accessibility, and support even more queer and neurodivergent people, we need to become an Incorporated Association in Queensland.
This is a huge milestone for us — but it comes with costs we can’t cover alone.
We’re raising funds to help with:
- The website creation and hosting fee for events.
- Basic admin and setup costs
- Accessibility resources for our community events
If this group has ever made you feel welcome, less alone, or more connected — or if you simply believe in creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent people — your support would mean the world.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps us build something real and lasting for our community. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page helps more than you know.
Thank you for believing in us, for showing up, and for helping us create a community where everyone feels they belong.
