To assist an elder with roof repairs on her home

Hi everyone,

My name is Samanntha. I have created this fundraiser with the encouragement of my friends and family. I am a small roofing contractor and after quoting a home on the 6 Nations reserve the homeowner had brought up her neighbor who is her sister and how she has been living with no heat and severe damages to her home. She is a 67 year old elder with arthritis who works a full time job, her husband passed away 4 years ago and she had expressed how she worked to pay for her home and then her house had an electrical fire which she had got another loan to pay for the fire damages. Her sister went talk to her as I was measuring her roof and she came back and said she didn't want a quote because she could not afford to get it fixed and she was already denied assistance to get her home repaired. Her sister told her she was still going to ask me for a quote and do what she can to at least get her roof repaired. This is a no patch job, this roof has extensive damages and needs a lot of TLC. I am willing to volunteer my time and expertise to help this elder with a new roof. She would need a full resheet, insulation and new shingles. Any little bit of help whether it is donations or prayers would be greatly appreciated. We would like to offset the cost as much as possible.

No elder should live like this and I cannot just turn a blind eye to the situation. It absolutely broke my heart and I would not feel right if I didn't at least try to help.

They are not aware that I have started this fundraiser but I will keep everyone up to date with the process and what we accomplish for her.
