Scunthorpe's First Baby Rainbow Memorial Garden

Our son, Rory, died on November 2nd, 2019 from sudden infant death syndrome at just 9 days old. We noticed a distinct lack of local places where we could go to commemorate Rory’s life. We have been working together with MP, Holly Mumby-Croft and North Lincolnshire Councillors Robert Waltham and Chris Ramsbottom to create a memorial garden in Central Park, Scunthorpe, where families who have lost a child can gather. The gardens intention is to provide a peaceful space, where families can come together and find someone who has been through a similar experience.

It is our firm and passionate belief, that this garden is vital to our community, and to the bereaved families who have suffered the agonising pain of losing a child.

 

We are therefore looking to fundraise to help support the project and appreciate any form of donation to the cause. In addition to any kind cash donations, we are also looking for donations of:

 

• Plants

• Trees

• Flowers

• Bricklayer to build a plinth

• Painters for garden gate and fencing

• Steel Fabricator / Welder to make a steel metal tree for the centrepiece

• Garden Maintenance equipment
