Where to start! The upcoming months are going to be a time of great change. Change that has been on my heart for awhile now. As many of you reading this know I am heading to South Africa January 6th. Here I will be helping with Hope Schools in East London which is located on the southeastern cape of the country. Most of the kids that attend this school live in extreme poverty outside of the city and they either have HIV or are affected by it. If they have parents, most of them cannot afford to send their kids to school. During my time there, my main responsibility will be trying to get these kids sponsored. Sponsoring a kid pays for their meals, HIV medication, transportation to and from school and uniforms. I will also help out wherever they see fit, whether that be teaching a class or building a fence.
This is going to be such an amazing 3 months and I’m really looking forward to it. I am sending this out to my church family who has been so great and supportive over the last 11 months(I know it feels way longer). I am welcoming my family and friends to come alongside to give financially to this if you would like.
The last and most important thing will be everyone's prayers. I know I am going to need them. I’m sure the upcoming months are not going to be all flowers and dandelions and that's okay. Please just pray that God uses me to do His will and not mine. Pray that if it is His will to succeed in this project that He has called me to, I will be able to do so only because of Him. Pray that I am obedient to Him in all that He calls me to do. Pray I can be a light to a lot of these kids and they can see Jesus in me. Pray that I’m able to help disciple people over there and bring them closer to Christ. Pray for direction in how God wants to use my life after this trip. There is a lot of uncertainty coming up in the near future but I know we serve a good God and it's all going to be just fine.
