Helping Children Take Their First Steps: CPABC's Equipment Subsidy Program

Every week in British Columbia, two families learn that their child has cerebral palsy. The good news is that therapies and assistive equipment can give that child a chance to live a full and independent life. But specialized equipment is expensive—beyond what most families can afford. Families need help to pay the portion governments don’t cover.

Children with cerebral palsy can require a lot of adaptive equipment—to help them walk, play, eat, and communicate. From crutches to specialized braces, adaptive trikes, communication devices and wheelchairs, the costs add up very quickly.

When a family is suddenly faced with a $500 bill every time their kid outgrows their custom shoes, they turn to CPABC.

CPABC helps families with these costs.
You can help a child walk, talk, and play.

Where Your Donation Goes—and Why It Matters

Your donation means we can continue to be there for families—helping them find answers, services, and hope.

• $20 provides exercise equipment
• $50 provides communication programs
• $500 provides a pair of custom braces

Small acts create big change, and no gift is too small.

You may never meet the families you help…but your kindness will stay with them forever.

CPABC is the only organization in BC that focuses just on cerebral palsy. We support people with cerebral palsy through every stage of life—from babies to adults to seniors.

But we are in critical need of funding to keep doing this important work.

Achieving our fundraising goal of $50,000 will help ensure that hundreds of families will get what they desperately need: therapy, equipment, accessible education, and hope.
