Hi! My name is Robyn! Thurgood Marshall Academic High School (TMAHS) in Bayview-Hunter's Point in San Francisco doesn't have a marquee and I would like your help please in remedying this! Remember driving into high school and getting pumped seeing what was the latest on the marquee, like which dance was coming up or when break would start? It's not just informative but it's a connector and a source of pride for students. It's a part of the buzz when you're there and the memories once you've left.
My previous company adopted TMAHS through the Circle the Schools program and I began managing the partnership in 2015. My company was then acquired and in 2018 they put an end to this partnership, abruptly ending the projects we had in play and nullifying the commitments we made. That doesn't sit well with me. I want to try to make good on this one last promise to Thurgood Marshall and I am hoping you will help me make it happen.
Working with TMAHS has been one of the highlights of my professional and personal life. These students are amazing and this staff is tireless in their thoughtfulness and dedication to the Phoenix experience. Helping Thurgood Marshall get a marquee is a meaningful contribution to its students and staff alike. And, for what it's worth, to me.
It's also my birthday this month (my bday is May 21st) and I know a lot of people are choosing charitable donations in lieu of gifts so please consider this mine.
Every little bit helps! I feel so confident that we can reach this goal! Please share! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
