- UPDATE May 13, 2020 -
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Southlake Village Social Committee Volunteers were recently able to deliver a large number of Longo’s Gift Cards to the amazing frontline staff. I’m so grateful to all who have donated - your support means so much to those who are working so hard on our behalf. Please check back for future updates!
Please join us in creating a fund in support of the frontline team members at Southlake Residential Care Village, in Newmarket, ON.
The staff at Southlake are working tirelessly under challenging conditions to care for our family members and the vulnerable in our community. Since frontline team members are being asked to self isolate and are restricted from grocery stores and errands, we would like to be able to offer the financial means to provide lunch, snacks, or other necessities, in the hopes of making their day-to-day lives a little easier.
Those of us with loved ones there are so fortunate to be able to rely on the care and commitment of this exceptional team. Knowing that the staff is now encumbered with the rigours of strict COVID precautions, and put their own safety on the line every day, it is hoped that we can provide some nourishment and support for them during this stressful time.
100% of donations will go to staff for this purpose and we hope you will join us in this effort. The fund is meant to address the needs of their interdisciplinary staff of heroes and frontline workers, including Nurses, PSW’s, Life Enrichment Staff, Environmental, Dietary, Physio, Social Workers, staffing and reception; to be used at their discretion, for whatever they may deem helpful or necessary and whatever will make their lives easier and safer.
Please join us in showing our appreciation and providing a little care for the carers.

Southlake Residential Care Village

This fundraiser was initiated by K. Clyde, a resident of the Newmarket area with a family member residing at Southlake Village, along with the awesome assistance of Family Council Co-Chair Helen Lockie, and Social Committee Volunteers Lloyd Amparado and Tracy Grice, who give generously of their spare time to foster a strong sense of community. We are grateful to the staff for the quality of care they provide, and wanted to be able to give something back during this very challenging time.
Disclaimer: Please note the change in our original post. The usage of funds to possibly be used for PPE has been removed. This is a function and a cost borne by Southlake Residential Care Village.
