Hamilton House

I was told by someone if you don't ask you don't receive.

So this need came to my heart. I would love to help Hamilton build his house in Africa.

Who is Hamilton and why help someone in Africa when we have so much need all around us?

Hamilton is a young man I met at a very low point in my life.

You know when you’re feeling bad about your life and someone comes along and shares their story and they even do it with a smile and you get an attitude adjustment and it wakes you up.

Hamilton didn’t push himself on me or ask for anything. He simply wanted to change circumstances for children who he knew are in the same position he was.

Hamilton’s Dad left shortly after he was born leaving his mom and grandmom to raise him in a very poor country.

His Mom and his grandmom died and left him homeless and living on the streets at the age of 6. It wasn’t until years later Urban Promise https://urbanpromiseusa.org/ found him and slowly gained his trust.

Hamilton made his way through elementary, middle, high school, and college and then got his master's.

This is when I met him.
He shared his plan to help others, and went back home with a modest budget, to help children in his area eat, have shelter, and receive education and protection which any child needs to grow healthy.

They call him Uncle Hammie.

When I started mentoring Hamilton he was returning to Africa with no place to live.

Here this man was going back to Africa (many with his education would decide to stay here in the United States) and yet he went back to the place where he experienced homelessness homeless again.

He never complained. But I was pulled apart.

How is this fair? I told Hamilton if he is going to help others he has to take care of himself. (He wasn’t eating so he could feed the kids.)

A year later Hamilton has done amazing things.
He’s started a home for girls. This keeps them off the streets and down a path of not only poverty but prostitution to stay alive. This is something dear to Hamilton’s heart.

Hamilton has also started building a home. Here is what he has so far. He is doing it in stages and when he has money will add to it.

I’m asking for 9000 to help him finish his home so he will have a place to live.

I know I am asking for your help and now the question comes up of why to help someone in Africa when there’s so much need here.

Well, this is what’s in front of me. This is the need I know about.

If I find someone in need here I will help them also. But I don’t consider Africa, Asia or anywhere on the planet too far away to help someone.

I know Hamilton touched my heart and what I loved is that he didn’t even ask me to do this. I just felt inspired to help him. I know he will help others with everything he has been given. I just know he needs to be taken care of to do that.

So if there is anything you can offer that would be great.

I will let you know what the total is each week I get donations for him. If there’s any extra we can put it towards the children he helps.

You can donate to.

Thanks so much. Much love and blessings,

Bert
