Help Bring Our Family Back Together After Brexit
Hello, my name is Frederic, and I'm reaching out for help to reunite my family. My wife, Antonia, and our three children – Luca (12), Ellis (10), and Cleo (8) – are currently in the UK, while I'm in France. Brexit has created a separation we never expected, and after my application for residency in the UK was denied, I am now seeking support to fund a new family visa application that will allow us to live together again.
I've lived in the UK since 1997, and it has been my home for over two decades. I met my wife in 2006, and we married in 2014, building a life together filled with love and stability for our family. Though we come from different countries – I'm French, and she is British – our life has always been about unity, love, and support. Before Brexit, we lived together in France, but when our family had to return to the UK, I faced a residency challenge. My initial EU Settlement Scheme application was denied due to a lack of residency proof in the UK before Brexit. Since then, we’ve been caught in a difficult position, separated by international regulations and unable to be together.
The separation has been especially hard on my wife, Antonia, who is doing everything she can to care for our three children alone. Our eldest, Luca is autistic, which brings unique challenges and requires a great deal of care, patience, and understanding. Antonia is an incredible mother, but the emotional and physical toll of raising a child with special needs, while also parenting two other young children without her husband’s support, has been overwhelming. She deserves the support of her partner, and our children deserve to have both of their parents together again.
Our children need both of their parents, and I am struggling to be away from them, especially during such formative years. As a father, it’s heart-wrenching to miss out on daily life – from helping with activity to life events and special occasions or simply being there when they need a hug. Antonia and I are both committed to finding a way back to each other, but the costs of legal fees and visa applications are overwhelming.
We need around £4,000 more after savings to cover these expenses, which include visa application fees and legal support to guide us through this complex process. Every contribution will go directly towards reuniting our family in the UK, bringing us one step closer to closing this painful distance between us.
Thank you so much for reading our story. Any support – whether a donation or simply sharing this campaign with others – means the world to us. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping us bring our family back together.
