Celtic Cross Free Primary School India Trip Jan 2025
Donation protected
Hi Everyone,
On the 15th of January we will be going to the Purkait Gheri region of West Bengal, India, to visit the Celtic Cross Free Primary School which was founded in 2008 by Carlow (Rathvilly) school teacher, Elaine Jones.
The school provides free education to all children in the locality, most of whom live below the poverty line in homes made from wood, mud & straw. They understand that education is their best chance of a better life. The school also runs a vocational training programme for the women & teenage girls of the community. Here they learn the skill of sewing from which they can generate an income.
When we visit we hope to be able to help in numerous ways .. from buying supplies for the school, clothes and toys for the children, buying animals at the mart for some of the villagers and materials for the sewing room as well as adding to their computer system.
We would be delighted if you could contribute any amount big or small to this cause and the money will be put to good use by us at Celtic Cross Free Primary School. Our trip is completely self financed and all money raised will go directly to the school.
Thanks in advance for your support!
