Tiv Women in Diaspora Water Project in Tivland

Donation protected
We ( Nguumbur Abu: Global Co-ordinator of Tiv Women in Diaspora and Racheal Gogo: Treasurer of Tiv Women in Diaspora) and our fellow Tiv Women in Diaspora (also known as TWID) have decided to act now to bring an end to the profound and perennial lack of access to clean and safe water experienced by our fellow citizens in the Tiv region of Benue State, Nigeria.

Without clean water, Tiv children are dying of waterborne illnesses like cholera, Tiv people are unable to wash their hands regularly to protect themselves against Covid-19 and they are less productive daily because of the amount of time it takes them to fetch the sort of dirty water the child pictured is drinking.

The impact of this lack of clean water is far reaching and has many negative effects on nearly all the other aspects of the lives of a people whose main occupation is in the agricultural sector and they are responsible for a significant proportion of Nigeria's food production. In order to solve these problems, TWID aims to use all the money we raise to dig boreholes in strategic locations all over Tivland as soon as possible in order to save as many lives as we can. With the full funding, this borehole project could begin this year.

We thank you for your generosity in helping us towards our goal. God bless you.
