Tira's Mission:Help For A Better Life for Lucas

Hi my name is Tira Chambers the little boy in the picture is Lucas. He is my husband's nephew. Lucas has had a very rough life. Lucas' mom is on drugs. She did drugs the whole time she was pregnant with him. She never had a stable home for him to live. She was going from house to house. When Lucas was 2 he kept sneaking out of the house to the neighbors house to find food. (DIF) which is family and children services found out and picked him up in the streets and took him away. His mother could not get him back, his father did not want to take him because he has his wife and family, and his grandma did not want him because she already has his older brother and sister. I live in the United States with my husband. So I left my husband and my older son in the states to come and get Lucas out of family and children services because they are not so good with the kids here like in the states, very different. I have been here with Lucas now for 3 years in Mexico. When he was 3 he was admitted in the hospital for 25 days because his appendix ruptured and it put a whole in his intestines, so they operated on him twice. He almost died on me, he was real sick. I thank GOD I had him and not his mom because she would not have taken him to the hospital. When I got him he had real bad nightmares. When he would eat he would eat so fast like he was scared someone was going to take away his food or like he never ate before. I have taken him to a psychologist to get him some help and they told me he had a mind like a 3 year old not a 5 year old because of the drugs his mom did and his defenses are down that is why he is always sick. My husband and I are doing everything we can to make sure he is taken care of and trying to give him a good life. My husband is working and paying for our home in the states and paying everything for the baby and I to be able to live her in mexico. We are trying to adopt him but it is very difficult here in mexico so we are working with the consulant office in Houston but have to pay the attorney. It is costing 8,500.00 dollars for the attorney and that is not including what we have to pay afterwards to legally bring him to the states with me. So I am starting this
