Tiny Postcards Counseling & Creative Arts' Big Move!

Donation protected
Hi, I’m Kyle (she/they) and my independent mental health and community arts practice, Tiny Postcards Counseling & Creative Arts LLC, is making a BIG move! Come July, Tiny Postcards is transitioning into a brick and mortar home. This space will be used to provide 1-1 holistic mental health therapy, group expressive arts-centered experiences, educational offerings, community gatherings and more. Read on to learn about the Tiny Postcards ethos, mission and vision for the future!

The Mission: Tiny Postcards Counseling & Creative Arts is dedicated to working at the intersection of mental health, community and creative expression. I believe that every human being deserves to be seen, heard and supported in whatever ways best align with their unique needs, sensitivities, life experiences and intersectional identities. The mental health systems in which we find ourselves enmeshed have all too often failed to operate in a person-centered, trauma-informed capacity. Tiny Postcards Counseling & Creative Arts is committed to reimagining how mental heath spaces can look, feel and contribute to co-creating a more equitable future.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Expressive Arts Therapist and Community Arts Organizer whose ethos draws inspiration from movements that are liberation-centered, peer-led and strive to deinstitutionalize health and wellness spaces. My practice focuses on supporting queer, trans and non-binary folx, neurodivergent individuals and lower-income community members. Maximizing equitable access to high-quality, integrative healthcare is incredibly important to me, which is why I accept a wide range of insurance plans including Medicaid and Medicare. In addition to providing individual therapy services, I love hosting/facilitating expressive arts-centered group experiences, educational offerings and community building events.

Your donation directly supports the birth of a space that will house all of the above mentioned passions and dreams! All funds raised will be used to help purchase the necessary amenities and supplies to outfit the space (think furniture, equipment, expressive arts supplies, accessibility and sensory-friendly accommodations, etc.).

The Space: I literally could not have dreamed up a more wonderful space to house the new evolution of Tiny Postcards! Located at 4700 Virginia Avenue in the heart of the Dutchtown neighborhood in St. Louis, Missouri, Tiny Postcards’ new home is oh so special and unique (click here to check it out yourself ). Dutchtown is the place I call home, and I am deeply committed to being part of the neighborhood's grassroots community organizing efforts. For decades, Dutchtown has been impacted by dynamics of socioeconomic disinvestment, but our neighbors, organizational ecosystem and small businesses are all working to nurture the place we live, work, play and grow. Tiny Postcards is thrilled to take the next step in joining the Dutchtown small business community, while developing a model that ensures the majority of services and programming remain free or low-cost.

Please know that I am immensely grateful for any and all donations of any and all sizes! I can’t wait to pour my heart into this new adventure, and would not be able to do it without the support of my community.

With love & in solidarity,
Kyle
