#TinnyMan Don't be fined for saving the ocean!

Donation protected
UPDATE 21ST May 12:30pm - WE DID IT!

Sanity prevails! No fine for the Tinny Man

We've been in contact with Django the #TinnyMan and can confirm that the Department of Fisheries has withdrawn their fine due to "Having no previous record of infringements with QBFP."

As originally stated in the campaign, and agreed on with Django, any funds not needed to cover fines would be donated to Sea Shepherd, Humane Society Australia & Australian Marine Conservation Society.

If you would prefer your donation refunded, please contact GoFundMe (https://bit.ly/383h679) to withdraw.

We will very soon be withdrawing funds and closing the Go Fund Me. If you need anything further from us please contact Envoy Film via Facebook.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: He has been fined, but not to the maximum amounts as yet, and we hope he will not be. He has been told the matter is not finalised, and further investigation will follow which may result in larger fines. Please DO NOT DONATE if you are not comfortable with the bottom line of this campaign, that says any excess raised over and above his fines, will go to various Ocean related charities.

CORRECTION: The maximum fines are actually $26,000 for entering the 20m exclusion zone around shark control program equipment, PLUS $66,725 for tampering with it - not $22,000 as originally stated.

A local legend is being fined for saving a baby whale from the ocean and that's not on!

Help us cover the fine and get TinnyMan some Tinnies!

This morning at around 7:00am a baby while was discovered in the Queensland Governments Shark nets off Burleigh. Immediately the Seaworld Team was notified, and the ball was rolling to initiate a rescue. Very quickly news crews were on the scene with the team from the Documentary Envoy: Cull (A eye-opening feature focussing on the east coast shark nets and drumlines) That's when things stopped. By 9:00am the SeaWorld team were ready but the Queensland Fisheries Department were unavailable to approve the rescue. A local hero juped into action and took the rescue into his own hands, lining it out to the whale and freeing it from the harmful nets. After the rescue, he was followed by the news crew helicopters and apprehended by Department of Fisheries officers. He has now been fined an undisclosed amount and up to $22,000+ for tampering with the nets, and we don't believe this is fair for him to pay a fine for the incompetent Queensland Government that showed no urgency for a drowning whale.

Without knowing the full value of the fine any extra funds raised will be given to Sea Shepherd, Humane Society Australia & Australian Marine Conservation Society.
