Living when you’re dying

On the 24th April 2020 I will be shaving my head to raise money for my sister,  Claire Venning. 

When I was growing up I always wanted to be like my big sister Claire. Pinching  her clothes, stealing her make-up, wearing her shoes (even if they were too big) and trying to hang with her and her friends.

I guess some things don't change tho I no longer pinch her clothes or her make-up and her shoes are still too big for me but I still want to be like my sister Claire.....  She's beautiful (inside and out), kind, funny, smart, loyal, caring, strong, a devoted wife (of 27yrs) and fabulous mother, Is now a retired nurse who is held in high regard, respected by her collegues and admired by her many patients and their families.  ...oh and she's bald, ...wait, what????

 I may not have all those other traits yet.... but I can be bald....

Claire was diagnosed with stage 4 Breast Cancer, Metastatic lobular right breast carcinoma (ER/PR 100 % positive, HER2 SISH negative) with right axillary lymphadenopathy with multiple bone metastases in Jan 2018, no surgery, no cure. She was 48yrs old.
  
Absolutely devastating for her, her husband Steve and their 3 children, Sam, Teagan and Max and all the family, extended family and friends.

My aim for shaving my head to raise funds is to help ease the financial stress that is so bundled together and hidden from view. The cost of treatments, scans, medication, travel to and fro, pain relief and of course the ongoing cost of living, because bills don't know you are dying and can't work! 

I hope it gives my sister, her devoted, ever-loving husband and kids the opportunity to spend as much valuable and quality time together as possible with the precious time that Claire has left.

I know this is a personal cause and so many of you have been touched one way or another by this devil of a disease, but I hope you can give a little (or a lot) to support my head shave and help me reach my target or more!
