Hi, my name is Akua. I'm Ghanaian-British. A single mum of two boys. I'm raising funds because I see too many of our children in the Diaspora getting lost to cycles of violence, addiction, and hopelessness. Time Out - Roots & Responsibility is a healing program that gives them a second chance — by taking them out of toxic environments and bringing them to Ghana.

Here, they will live in a safe home, connect with African heritage through culture and community, and gain responsibility through mentorship, workshops, and life skills training. The result? Troubled youth rediscovering identity, discipline, and hope for the future.

I am raising £75,000 to transform an existing building into a secure accommodation centre for the youth. Funds will cover renovations, furnishings, therapy spaces, and utilities. This home will become the foundation where transformation begins, where by turning to their roots, youth will move forward to with a purpose.
