Support Timothy Fournie - A Community Fundraiser

Hi, my name is Abby Fry and i am fundraising to support Timothy Fournie in his ongoing struggle with Huntingtons disease. Tim is 48 years old and was diagnosed 7+ years ago with Huntingtons, a progressive disease that is genetic and affects how the brain and body functions dramatically. He was a chartered accountant for most of his life, a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. As his condition progressed over the years he has lost connection with those he was close to in his life. Tim has been very fortunate to have had many people support and try to get him help over the years, unfortunately with his condition he does not always make good choices or allow for the help he may need. Wanting to maintain his independence has prevented him for accepting many forms of assistance.

Tim is currently living outside in Scarborough Ontario. He spends his days in different spots and finds places where he can rest for the night outside. Because of his condition the police and ambulance are often being called on him.

All we would like to do is to create awareness around what is going on for Tim and support him how we can with, food, clothing and accomadations if possible.

I feel an instinctive passion to help those in need of support and have given a great deal of time and energy to causes like this one, we can advocate and come together as a community of human beings to support one another and raise awareness as individuals. Our health care system and social support networks are stretched thin and there are so many grey areas that make it difficult to find answers and navigate solutions. Especially when it comes down to the consent and willingness of those we are offering assistance to, to accept help. I am currently studying to become a Death Doula with the Conscious Dying Institute, and hope to further engage with what end of life care looks like in our culture, how we may be able to offer more wholistic approaches and practice bringing more support to this important transitional time.

The funds raised through this initiative will go towards supporting Tim as he continues his journey with this disease, to meet his needs and offer support to those who are helping him. It will also be there to cover the cost of his end of life.
