I'm writing on behalf of my dad, Tim, who is courageously living with ALS—a devastating disease that has left him dependent on life-supporting medical equipment, including an electric bed and wheelchair, BIPAP machine, cough assist, oxygen concentrator, and suction devices.

Tim is more than a husband and father—he’s the heart of our family. His quick wit, warmth, and contagious laughter light up every room. Whether he's sharing a joke, talking about his favorite soccer team or the Chiefs, or bragging endlessly about his wife and kids (which he does proudly to anyone who'll listen), Tim makes everyone feel seen and cared for. He also finds joy in spending time with his beloved horses and worked with pride and dedication at Graybar for nearly a decade before retiring due to his illness.

My dad lives in a rural community where power outages are not only common but can last for days. Each outage poses a serious, immediate threat to my dad’s life, as all of his essential medical devices require electricity to function.

To ensure his safety and allow him to remain in the comfort of his home, we urgently need to install a reliable standby generator with automatic backup power. The total cost for the purchase and installation is approximately $14,000—a financial burden that exceeds what we can manage alongside his ongoing medical expenses.
