Be a part of Thunderstruck's future success

For those who have been following the event for the past 3 years (crazy how fast the time has gone btw) thank you and welcome back!! If you're new here, thanks for dropping in and I hope you continue to follow the event's journey!

Thunderstruck is taking to GoFundMe as a way to try and grow a more steady pool of money that's exclusively used for giving back to the community and athletes. Our goal covers only funds to cover housing, bike park/insurance fees, transportation around the venue/to & from airports, media fees, feeding all 25-30 athletes, media and volunteers all weekend and - when there is (hopefully) eventually extra money - an athlete scholarship to help offer this experience to those who may not have money for event a plane ticket ✈️

So far, even since year 1, sponsorship dollars have been really tough to get from brands, which stems from the ripple effects Covid had on the world (because we all know it affected more than just the bike industry). This event started as a passion project and I know it can be/has been and will continue to be a great resources for generational inspiration and career growth; athletes range from more established pros to the freshest up-and-coming talent to encourage connections in the industry plus give these ladies a spotlight in hopes that other brands/events/sponsors will see them and jumpstart their bike careers.

While I am happy to try to keep doing so, I fund everything out of my own pocket out of the sheer love of what this event means to me. I have bigger goals with Thunderstruck and how I can reach/gather more riders from around the world - but I need financial help to get there.

It takes a village, and so far this village has been one I am beyond proud to be a part of ❤️ We have taken to Patreon (for people looking to continue donating over time) and GoFundMe (for people looking to just make a one-time donation) as alternative funding sources as sponsorship dollars are tough to fight for in this economy.

With that said, I know life is expensive right now for everyone, your money is extremely valuable and we appreciate anything you're able to give - and if you're not able to give, no stress because sharing our event on social media or word of mouth is just as valued.

Stay tuned for event updates on our website or IG @thunderstruck_by_kj - see you soon!! ⚡️
