As a class we have recently been on a trip to visit the Children’s hospice at Charlton Farm. We expected to find sadness but instead we were left with a feeling of hope, joy and love. The work that the staff do at the children’s hospice is truly amazing and makes a huge difference for the lives of so many families. There’s often a misconception that the children’s hospice is a place where family’s go when there children are on end of life care but it is so much more than that. The children’s hospice provide care and support for the entire family whether that is respite for parents or support for the sibling of unwell children.
That’s why we’re launching a fundraiser to give back to a place that gives so much, every single day. The hospice relies on donations to continue their vital work, offering specialist care, comfort, and unforgettable experiences to children and families when they need it. Without the work of fundraisers throughout the year this essential charity would not be able to run and provide the services and support that it does.
To raise money we have created our very own santa run specifically for 6form. During ETT on Tuesday 16th of December the whole of 6form will be out on the astro moving in some way for 30 minutes. This can be running or walking, whatever an individual is able to do. We would like to encourage everyone to feel the christmas spirit in some way by dressing up. To also include the lower school there will be a christmas jumper/non-school uniform day where donations can be made to support the Children’s Hospice.
Whether it’s £1 or £10, your support can make a real difference. You’re not just donating money you’re helping children live well, smile wider, and feel loved for every moment they have.
Please help us support Children’s Hospice South West.
