Who Are We?

We are the Thrive Five, a group of students from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, raising money for a local nonprofit right in your backyard, this magical place called Thrive in Lonsdale. We are striving to raise money specifically for an event called “Light Up Lonsdale” to celebrate Christmas for at-risk youth.

What Is Thrive?

Thrive is an after-school program for kids K-12 to have a safe space to be themselves and learn the gospel. Their mission is to connect caring adults with at-risk youth through gospel centered relationships. This program is provided to hundreds of students to provide homework help, bible study, and other electives.

Where Your Donations Are Going

The money raised by our campaign is going towards all the supplies needed to make “Light Up Lonsdale” happen. Every child deserves to have a Christmas, and we believe this event will not only give these children just that but also a chance to connect with the Lord's work.

Some supplies that are needed are boxes of lights, power strips, many command strips, and so much more. This event hosts over 350 students from several student ministries. 100% of the money raised will go straight to the Thrive program. Even donating $1 will make a huge impact. Christmas For The Children

With your donation, we believe this event will show the at-risk youth how much they are cared for. We believe every child deserves Christmas, especially those who go through hardships no child should face. We want these students to have unforgettable memories as well as a deep connection with the lord. With your help, we can give these children an unforgettable Christmas.

The Truth

In 2022, we found that 19% of high schoolers in Knoxville are at-risk youth. This percentage may seem small, but it is much more than you think. The total number of students in Knox County is approximately 17,190, which means there are about 3,266 students who are at risk, which is almost as many as the whole population in a rural town, which is just high schoolers alone.
