Three Peaks Challenge 2025
We are a team of parents taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge in just 24 hours to raise funds for our local school, Lea Primary.
Unfortunately our local village playgroup is having to close it's doors after over 50 years due to rising costs. Many local adults have themselves been part of the playgroup either as a child or working there over the years and it's a vital resource for the community.
Thankfully our local school Lea Primary has stepped up and will be taking over the nursery provision from September 2025, although it will not be at the village hall anymore. They now need support in raising funds for resources to create the new setting for September.
Our challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, with travel between each location within 24 hours and we will be tackling it on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th June 2025.
We will start with Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain standing at 1345m (4,413 ft). Next stop is Scafell Pike in the Lake District at 978.4 m (3,210 ft) and finally, with tired legs and sore bodies we will move to the final ascent of the challenge to stand at 1,085 m (3,560 ft) at the summit of Snowdon in Wales.
It’s a total walking distance of 23 miles (37km), with a total ascent of 3,064 metres (10,052 ft) and total driving distance of 462 miles.
Please support us with as little or as much as you can - every penny counts!
