Hi, I'm John Zimmerman, a Scout with Troop 128 in Mclean VA, working toward the rank of Eagle Scout.

For my Eagle project, I'm leading the effort to improve The Gathering Place — a small but important community space in the heart of downtown Three Lakes. This project is all about making the space more welcoming, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone who visits.

Here’s what I’ll be doing:

Removing weeds and laying fresh mulch to clean up the landscaping

Installing new bike racks to encourage more bike-friendly visits

Adding a new sign so the space is easier to find and more inviting

If funds allow, sanding and staining the picnic tables to restore them and extend their life

This project will not only improve the look and function of the space, but also help make downtown Three Lakes more pedestrian- and family-friendly.

Your donation will go directly toward supplies like mulch, wood stain, hardware, and signage. Any extra funds will be used to support additional beautification or donated to Downtown Three Lakes Inc. for ongoing care of the space.
