Threads & Treads Fundraiser

Threads and Treads is a wonderful organization housed at Canyon Park Middle School that allows the families of Northshore School District and the surrounding communities to come and shop for free to find gently used clothing and accessories for the entire family. They are also given new socks and underwear each month. T&T is entirely dependent on donations, whether through clothing items or through money, to be able to operate.

I'm raising money to benefit Threads & Treads, a program sponsored by Canyon Park Middle School PTSA, and any donation will help make an impact.

We have some lofty needs and waiting for donations to trickle in throughout the year, while always helpful and appreciated, makes it really hard for us to plan for larger purchases and needs. We always appreciate the donations of clothing, especially new socks and underwear, and the clothing drives various schools do for us each year (and will still need to happen). But we are beginning to see our needs increase in other areas that require more funds and go beyond clothing donations.

Here is why I am starting this fund and what Threads & Treads hopes to do with the money raised:

A Threads & Treads customized donation bin that can sit outside the CPMS office that will be accessible 24/7 for people to make donations when their times allows - $2000
ULINE Heavy Duty Z-rolling racks. T&T needs more racks to be able to hang more clothes and have more available for people to shop. They need to be able to bear a lot of weight and be portable. Many of the current racks have been rewelded several times and are becoming not reliable to roll in/out for shopping and need to be relegated to being stationary. - $110-150 ea - need about 6-8
Updated display racks for the store to be able to take advantage of more vertical space - $$$
Socks & Underwear - though lots of donations are received through clothing drives, T&T regularly spends another $3000-4000 each year supplementing donations to ensure there is enough on hand to give out each month.
Other supplies such as shopping bags, storage bins, signs and labels for clothing racks and shelves, signage for the store and around the community - our hard-working volunteers have begun to pay for these items out of pocket as funds are scarce and the items are needed
Reserves - whatever is left will be in reserve to apply to subsequent seasons and future needs.

This program is a vital resource for families in and around the greater Bothell/Woodinville/Kenmore community and we hope to be here for several years to come to continue to be that source of compassion and support. We are very proud of our program and of the work we do for our community!
