Thongs to stay strong

My name is Sam I’m 24 years old and live in Perth Western Australia.

Just recently I’ve done some distance running in pluggers, better known as thongs or flip-flops. Just recently I ran 21.1km (half-marathon) in thongs and it generated some noise.

I thought I’d put this attention to good use.

Whilst the run was bloody tough, so many Aussies are less fortunate and do it tough day in day out.

I’ve decided I’m going to put myself in the hurt locker again in the hope to gain more support for those who need it. The next distance I’ll be running in thongs is 42.2km (Marathon). Once the marathon is done I’ll be looking to go bigger.

As most of you would know I like to do things a little different.

Sometimes we donate money to fundraisers/charities and don’t often see the difference it makes.

That’s why I’ve decided 80% of money donated will go to the Perth children’s Hospital Foundation and 20% will go straight to buying toys, clothes, food and of course thongs for those who need it most. This will allow me to show you directly the difference your donations are making.
