Thomas Community Garden
Donation protected
The Thomas Community Garden is a common space for collective vegetable cultivation. Here, we will share and expand our knowledge of gardening, grow our appreciation for nature, take steps towards a more resilient food system, connect and take action in regards to a changing climate, and ultimately cultivate a community of abundance.
The garden will be open for people to pick from! This radical idea will be kept alive with regular work parties, education, communication, and love for one another..
The current location is set to be next to the Fiddlers Roost guest house, in between Front St. and Spruce St. in Thomas, WV. Over the years to come, we will expand as seems fit. In the words of Wendell Berry, “We learn from our gardens to deal with the most urgent question of the time: How much is enough?”
Funds will go to landscaping, compost and amendments, fencing, and some tools. We will follow up with a fundraising event and throughout the year we will have small offerings (i.e. bouquets of flowers) for donations from the public.
This is for the land and all its inhabitants!
