Thistle Suite Rehabilitation Centre

Hi my name is Nicole and for those who are close to me will know that in November last year we had a very close call as my mum Cheryl was in a serious car accident, the injuries she sustained were life changing and if luck wasn’t on our side, today might be a lot different.

She was hit by a car going 45mph on a roundabout and was blue lighted to Edinburgh Royal as her injuries were too severe for our local hospital. She then went on quite the medical journey as she attended 3 hospitals throughout her 4 month recovery, this included the Thistle Suite Rehabilitation Centre in Stirling.

I cant thank the Thistle team enough, not only did they support my mum to learn how to walk again unaided but they were a smile on dark days, they were her family on Christmas and New Year’s and they really made a difference.

I am running the kelpies half marathon in September in order to raise money for the rehabilitation centre, I have discussed this with the centre and they were very grateful for this gesture. The money will go towards equipment/resources for further patients from all walks of life to support them and their needs on their journey to recovery. I am excited for this challenge and to be able to give back to people who helped my mum be able to hold her granddaughter once again. Any donation means the world and I thank you for helping me give back to the place that gave me back my mum.

I am so proud of how far you have came and I know how much you still struggle day to day, physically and mentally but you’re doing an amazing job at giving life another go. Always and forever will be a mummy’s girl, it’s good to have you home❤️ ditto x
