Hey everyone, my name is Tyler Pitman and I am looking to help someone out who has been nothing short of a true inspiration in my life. Someone who has played a huge roll in me becoming the person I am today. His name is Scott Kizer. Unfortunately Scott has been confined to a chair for over 20 years now due to a dirt bike accident, but he has not let that define him. He has not let that stop him from pushing hard every single day. This man, from a chair, has done all kinds of incredible woodwork, he has ran his own shop for the past 10 years that he just recently shut the doors on, and he has done more from a chair than most people do with two legs! I say that because he truly is an incredible man. He inspires so many people without even realizing that he is doing it. He sure as hell inspired me to never give up. No matter what just never stop moving forward regardless of the obstacles that life throws your way.
Now, the thing about Scott or "Cracker" as I have always known him by my entire life, is a very selfless person. He is always helping others around him. Always going out of his way to benefit other people and making sure that they are taken care of. Whether it be with their car, or they need help doing a project, or they want cabinet doors hung...He is there. Because of this Scott has put himself last quite a few times in his life. I don't mean that in a bad way at all. I just mean that he tends to put off his own personal issues to tend to somebody else's...His chair is one of the biggest signs of that. It is worn out. The backrest digs into his sides, He is constantly readjusting himself to get comfortable, and it is just plain time for this incredible person to have himself a nice chair. He deserves that...He deserves so much more than that, but the very least I could do is try and get him this one thing. He lives his life from this chair. It is the very last thing that he should have to worry about or be uncomfortable in. Let alone be getting injured from because of the dilapidated state of the backrest.
Anytime I have ever asked Scott when he is going to get a new chair he just brushes it off by saying that he can't find any used ones out there or that new ones are just too pricey. Which just isn't fair at all. The type of chair that Scott uses is $1,500+ as a base price. And knowing him, being so content with what he has, he will never take it upon himself to pull the trigger on getting a new chair. So, that is why I am asking for your help to get this guy something he truly deserves. To get him sitting nice and comfortable on a nice new chair because with how much he does for everybody else it is about time for someone to give back to him for a change. This would mean the world to both me and Scott. More than you could ever imagine.
His 50th birthday is coming up in October. I would be ecstatic to be able to present him with this chair for his birthday. Thank you in advance for any help in making this happen. I have attached some pictures of his chair that I took last weekend when I unloaded it from the truck for him.
