Dr. Omai Kofi, Founder of The Board of Literacy, is leading a targeted initiative to increase the financial quotient of our youth.
In alignment with partners, including: Innovation Black Chamber of Commerce, National Youth Week, Change The Narrative, and IBON World—this campaign is focused on one outcome:
Economic readiness.
Here’s the reality:
• Nearly 60% of U.S. adults are financially illiterate
• The average American carries over $90,000 in debt
• Most teens graduate without understanding credit, investing, or cash flow
The result?
Cycles of debt, poor decisions, and delayed wealth.
We’re changing that early.
We are raising $30,000 in 30 days to fund 2026–2027 programming for 100 youth (ages 12–16), delivering:
• Banking, credit, and budgeting fundamentals
• Wealth-building and financial decision-making
• Entrepreneurship and mentorship
• Real-world exposure through simulations and field experiences
This is not theory. This is preparation.
If we don’t teach them now, they will pay for it later.
This is an investment in financially capable, economically prepared leaders.
