1 Corinthians 13:13 that says "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

Greetings,

This year, Erika, Taylor and I have decided to do something a little different as we continue to examine the true meaning of Christmas. Instead of exchanging gifts, we’ve decided to adopt 6 homeless single women with babies (ages 0-5) and try to provide them with a wonderful holiday. These women currently reside at Isaiah House which is a shelter with a number of programs. Our plan is to deliver a basket to each of these women on Christmas Day filled with items to show that there are people thinking of them on Christmas Day!

HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP.

As mentioned, our goal is to provide individual baskets to the six single women in the “Community Outreach” Program. Each of these women have 1 child between the ages of 0 and 5. We’d like to deliver the baskets on Christmas morning. (We are still awaiting a list of specific items, sizes ages etc. but we wanted to get started) So here’s how you can help.

1. Contribute to this GoFundMe Ideally, if you could make your donation by December 19th that would be great. December 21-23, we will use whatever money we collect to go shopping for items for these families. Anything we receive after that, we will donate directly to Isaiah House.

2. Donate any of the following “new” items that we can add to the baskets. Please note these are general items. If you’d like a list of more specific items, please email us. Also, please contact me (Baron) to arrange a drop off time/location for items.

General Items include but not limited to - pillows, twin comforters, baby blankets, decorative/ motivational pictures slippers, bathrobes, PJs, socks, gloves, baby blankets, body washes, perfume, scarves, throw rugs, gift cards

3. Donate Directly To Isaiah House - http://www.isaiahhouse.org/donate.php  Although we would love if you joined our effort, Isaiah House can use so much help in so many areas. Donating this way, will allow them to use the money where it’s most needed. (If you feel like letting us know you made a donation, that’s great, but don’t feel obligated to).

We may need some help in other areas as far as coordinating pick-ups/drop-offs, shopping or putting the baskets together. Also, if you have other ideas on how you’d like to help, by all means let us know.

Thank you all in advance for your kind and giving spirit.

Love
Erika, Taylor & Baron

A LITTLE ABOUT ISAIAH HOUSE

Led by Executive Director Zammeah Bivins-Gibson and a committed staff of over 80 people, Isaiah House has a number of programs that support the less fortunate. Their food pantry provides hundreds of bags 3 times per week, to anyone in need of food. Additionally, they feed not only the residents of the shelter 3 meals per day, but anyone in need of a hot meal. They shelter a number of populations: teenage boys, women with HIV, DCP&P families and single mothers with children. In addition, they provide childcare for some of their programs that helps remove the barrier of their residents finding a job. THEY OFFER THESE SERVICES FOR FREE. Of course to continue their work, they are at the mercy of grant funding, but it’s people like me and you that help fill the gaps. Visit http://www.isaiahhouse.org/
