This year is our 10 year anniversary, during most of that time we've been based at Thirsk High School. We wanted to give something to the community to celebrate our achievement and that's when Challenge 10 was born. It was a unanimous decision we'd like to raise funds for a defibrillator.
As a club during the month of June, our members from Juniors Age 10 to our seniors in their 70's will be taking on challenges that have 10 in the title. This can be absolutely anything from skipping for 10 minutes a day to walking 10 miles to staying silent for 10 minutes, 10 consecutive days.
By taking on this challenge we need to raise enough money to see it last for hopefully another 10 years. You may be surprised to know that every time it's used new pads have to purchased, these can be £75 each time. A new battery possibly every four years can be up to £250, we therefore want to make sure we have enough funds to cover these extra costs too.
We hope you will help us with our fundraising, so not only our netball club but everyone else that hires out the school facilities and the local community will benefit should it ever be needed.
Finally, a thank you to the school who have agreed that we can house the defibrillator on their premises. Like all schools they have their own de-fibs but these are not accessible to anyone that hires the facilities or the local community. This one will be accessible 24-7 to all.
Thank you
Thirsk Netball Club
