I’m participating in an Olympic Triathlon this Oct

Whilst I was in the middle of a training run recently, I thought to myself, "why am I actually running?". Three things came to mind:
1. To make a difference to my colleagues wellbeing and encourage them to get active.
2. To contribute my activity (hours and kilometres) to Plan International and raise funds for young women in need as part of our company CSR Program.
3. To honour my parents - as they would both want me to be as healthy and fit as possible.

The reality is #3 is my personal WHY. By the age of 27 I had lost both of my parents to Bowel Cancer - they were diagnosed and passed away within 3.5 years of each other. It was emotionally devastating time for my whole family and the ripple effects can still be felt today. I'm clear that this life experience has made me who I am today and it's given me the fortitude to be willing to operate well outside of my comfort zone.

So would you like to join me in making a difference? To commemorate the Triathlon training I am doing and to celebrate my parents, I've also chosen to raise money in aid of Bowel Cancer Australia and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.

If you're not aware, on the 22nd October 2022 I am taking part in an Olympic Triathlon (1.5km Swim, 40km Bike, 10km Run) in Lanzarote with 76 of my Adecco Group colleagues from around the globe to raise money for this important cause and our charity partner, Plan International. Together our mission is to make a difference in the lives of others and every activity we do as a team will raise funds for this incredible cause. I just want to do something a little bit extra to help keep me on track as we get closer to the event!
