The Yiya Zerpa Organization for Kids in Venezuela

Hi, my name is Aida Zerpa. I founded this project, which is named after my grandmother, because I have a very strong personal connection to Venezuela and I believe it is very important for everyone to have an equal chance and opportunity to succeed in the world. I want the Yiya Zerpa Organization for Kids in Venezuela (La Organización Yiya Zerpa para Niños en Venezuela) to help kids in Venezuela learn the English language, as well as have access to more resources (e.g., laptops, iPads, toys, books, etc.), so they can use these tools to further their education and communicate with people globally.

I am partnering with the foundation “Fundación el Refugio de Dios," which works directly with several orphanages throughout the city of Valencia. In June 2023, I saw firsthand the incredible impact of the foundation on the children's lives, and I am eager to expand this impact with the help of your donations in December 2023 when I return to Venezuela. Your donations through December 2023 will specifically go towards purchasing Christmas gifts and school supplies for the kids.

Update: Our new goal has been set to June 2024 in order to receive more donations to help the children. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far!

Update 2.0: Unfortunately, due to the current sociopolitical situation in Venezuela, our July/August 2024 trip had to be rescheduled and then cancelled. We are hopeful that we will be able to go in December 2024! In the meantime, we appreciate any and all donations.
