The Witmer Scholarship

The Witmer Scholarship was created in honor of Rick Witmer, to help aid student athletes with college expenses. One of his life missions was to help young athletes not only through sports, but to guide them into becoming the best version of themselves.

Rick grew up in San Jose, California where he graduated from Pioneer High School. He played basketball all four years and earned multiple scholarships at the collegiate level. He spent his college years at San Jose City College, The University of San Francisco, and finished up at Vanguard University where he earned his degree in Business. After college, he couldn't get away from the game of basketball. For fifteen years, he coached AAU teams including all of his boys teams. He then was an assistant coach for four years at Prestonwood Christian Academy and two years at Collin College. His ultimate goal was to help athletes get to the next level.
