Why? All crops were lost to the November floods in and around Limonade Haiti. Now families will have to eat beans they had saved for the next planting. In many areas, where food security is a constant issue, these recent losses are critical. Children, pregnant women, and the aged will be especially at risk.
Who? There will be some money for seeds, but seeds will be hard to find locally. Peasant farmers and families in poverty lack the means to travel far afield. Please help by collecting donating vegetable seeds. They are already available locally (Lowes and Menards).
What kind of seeds? Beans are a priority, but also black-eyed peas, beets, onion, peppers, okra, spinach, tomatoes, corn, squash & pumpkins, carrots, cabbage, kale and greens, cucumbers, melons, and herbs.
What can you do? Again I ask for the community of Columbus Indiana. Help me by donating money, or just a pack of seeds. Anything will be used to help these families in crucial need of healthy food. Please share and spread this page to family and friends!
Important note: all seeds must be non-GMO and organic, otherwise we can harm any indigenous stocks, now and in the future.
It is IMPORTANT to reach the goal and get these seeds to those in need as soon as possible. I appreciate all the willingness to help.
Please share and spread this page as well to family and friends!
