I’m inviting you to join me in supporting our friends, The Moons. Some of you may know that their family was formed as a result of an amazing adoption journey.

Their oldest son is 10 and is a wonderful, caring, athletic and  adorable kid. Unfortunately, Gabriel was exposed to alcohol and trauma in utero and has been diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

This affects him in lots of ways but his biggest struggle right now  is managing   his emotions at home. This results in conflict and fits of rage and aggression.  He has very little ability to manage these outbursts right now.

Allison and Jacob are always looking for new (and creative) ways to support Gabriel and improve his life.  As a result of their research, they have learned that a Therapy Support dog can be extremely helpful for people with FASD.   That's the good news!  The bad news is that it is quite costly to train a dog to meet the needs of a child in this way.

I would love it if we could join together to raise a portion of the funds it will take to provide specialized training for their puppy Huckleberry.  

It would mean the world to them to have this support as they already incur a lot of additional expenses for Gabriel for treatment, therapy, respite, medicine, etc.
