The Port Music Festival 2021

Our main goal is to provide youth with a stage to perform on in front of an audience and get paid! A minimum of 50% of your donations go directly to the Collingwood Youth Centre and the remainder is used to cover some of our operating expenses, such as paying our incredible musicians! Many people don’t know that we are a charity event that receives a large percentage of our funding from the Town of Collingwood’s Community Recreation & Culture Grant, we’re completely non-profit, and our goal is to help youth in the community through music. We try to do that by providing a platform for as many local and youth musicians as possible to showcase their amazing music; but primarily our hope is to give as many kids as possible an ability to showcase their incredible talents in front of an audience, when that may not be possible in your typical “gig” setting. This year we have more youth musicians performing than any other year, we’re really hoping more kids are interested in participating next year so please help spread the word if you know any youth that would love to share their music!
A minimum of 50% of your donations will go directly to the Collingwood Youth Centre, the remainder is used to cover some of our costs including paying artists, advertising costs, and a ton of other stuff, especially during live years!
It’s also super important for everyone to know that since we’re a charity, we do try to pay our artists as much as possible, but what we’re typically able to give is nowhere near what any of these incredible musicians deserve to be paid. We’re really hoping we can get enough donations this year to pay the artists a lot more than what they were initially promised, but regardless we truly want to thank each and every band and musician performing this weekend, for the amount of time and effort you donated to our cause. We appreciate you all so much and can’t thank you enough for your contributions this year!
