Theo's Leukaemia Journey

Above is a picture of our sister Luisa, our brother in law Tim and their four beautiful children Ylenia, Mia, Zac and Theo.

Heartbreakingly, on Friday the 9th July 2021 their entire world turned upside down when they received the news no parent ever wants to hear, ‘your child has Leukaemia’!!

We cannot believe that the sad stories we have read in the past about families in these circumstances has become our very own nightmare as our precious little Theo has been diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia aged 3 years old.

How can this be? Our very own handsome, cheeky little nephew so desperately sick? Sadly this is the reality we are now all facing.

He has already undergone so many treatments and procedures in just two weeks and has required several blood transfusions already. He will be requiring regular bone marrow aspirations and lumber punctures and is currently on an intensive chemotherapy regime that will last for three years. 

This is not something a little boy of his age should ever have to endure.

Many of you, family and friends, have sent requests of ways you can help Theo and his family through this nightmare.

With us all feeling so helpless and unable to make this dreadful situation go away, we have decided to set up this page as a way to show our love and support for Luisa and Tim and hope we can help in any way we can.

Due to Theo receiving treatment for the next 3 years, Luisa will be his full time carer and although she is being given the time off from her nursing job it will be unpaid for the whole duration….

Tim being self employed does not receive any wages either hence our decision to help the family in this way..

We also hope to raise enough money to contribute towards a special trip that Theo and his family hope to go on when his treatment is finished and Luisa and Tim would like to be able to give something back to help and support charities who will be supporting them and Theo along the way.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated no matter how big or small.

Theo is a strong and inspirational little boy and as a family its painfully difficult to be unable to take all this pain away but cancer picked the wrong little boy and family and we know Theo is going to kick cancer’s butt.
