Charleston SC is growing rapidly in all aspects. Development concerns include affordable housing, supporting our niches of culture, and public access to land and water. Johns Island is in the heart of the rural & Gullah culture, has a rich farming and Hyspanic heritage, and is a community that loves it's natural ground. It's a place where everyone use to walk to the creek, but now has no public access to water because it's all become privately owned. We are under contract to purchase over 25 acres of land that will provide public access to fresh water in the heart of the island. Located in the center of the business district, we will build a community center to expand the children's nature programing and create true wealth through Community, Heritage, Nature, Music and Health.
We are thoroughly prepared in every aspect of the planning and preparation stages. There is an amazing team of committed professionals who are friends of the Local Pulse because this project speaks to them and they are investing in it. This team will continue to be highlighted on our social media as things develop. Keep your finger on the pulse @TheLocalPulse #localpulse.
Today, we are calling out to our culture to invest in itself and help us maintain so that we can sustain. We need to raise $20,000. By contributing to this cause, you will help get us where we need to be in securing the land, and allow us to further boost our online support of grass roots events and projects in the Charleston communitiy at large. We will use our home base, which is a smaller version of what we are creating, to host regular mixer fundraisers, heritage events and children's outdoor programming. Stay tuned so you can feel the pulse grow. www.localpulseji.com
Your support means you are creating a culture where we support and empower each other in harmony with the natural world. Where we Preserve, Diversify and Sustain. Your support reaches out in common interest and value for the health of the whole. I would never dream of asking for your energy if I had not experienced 100% that it was a powerful solution for us all in mutual benefit. Stanford and Berkely canvased people based on bias, and found that exposure was the most effective way to open people's minds. We are exposing ourselves to each other, where country meets the city, where we shape our culture through each others gifts, and our common needs and interests. Please consider what this could mean for us all, and donate what you can. If 500 people give 40$, we meet the goal and soar onward!
