So, we're nothing special, Brett and I.
Just two people from the south who love Milo's sweet tea and love Jesus even more. He has completely, radically changed our lives from simply overwhelming us with his crazy and wild love. It's steadfast, relentless and consumes us day after day. Because of this love we've found in Him, because of the fact that He has whispered to us "I've purchased you.." and "you are mine..." (Exodus 15 and Isaiah 43), we have fallen in love with this process called adoption, because we have seen that WE are the ones who have been adopted...adopted into the family of God. God has reached down, seen us in our desperate need for love, has looked at us dead in the face and told us point blank.."I want you".
When you hear those words from your Abba Daddy and think to yourself..."How could you want me?", He pulls you so close and says all the more "I want you". From the moment we heard him say those three words, he has birthed within our hearts the desire to pick up a beautiful baby boy, baby girl, look at them dead in the face and say to THEM those exact same words for the rest of their little lives..."I want you." God has adopted Brett. God has adopted me. God has loved us with love thats just down right crazy, and because He is a God who gives GOOD gifts to His children, He has given us the gift of a heart that beats wild for orphans.
Brett and I got married in September of 2012 (coming up on our three years! Yay!) and one of the talks we sat down and had before he put a ring on it was the talk of where we stood on adoption. In 2009, God spoke so clearly into my heart that I would be a mother to a beautiful child who did not look like me. He spoke that over me while I was working with orphans in Peru. I heard it clear as day and knew that the man God had already chosen for me would have heard God's voice on that same topic. Well, sure enough, Brett had. Our hearts entwined together the night we both looked at each other and with tears in our eyes, sealed our dreams. We knew at that moment that God had already chosen a precious child for us, a child that maybe had not even yet been born, but nonetheless, a child that needed us, a child that WE would need.
"But now thus says the Lord, He who created you, O Jacob, He who formed you, O Israel, Fear not, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by name, YOU ARE MINE." Isaiah 43:1

Brett and I need your help! We want desperately to walk in obediance and begin our pursuit to bringing home our little world changer, our little angel, our little chosen one home and we KNOW that our God is a BIG God. We KNOW that our God is our Provider. We know that our God can do the impossible. He is the water walker. Adopting a child is extremely, extremely expensive. From home study fees to travel fees to lawyer fees to all other kinds of fees, it adds up like crazy. Brett and I fully believe that God has placed us right here in Gardendale, Alabama and has brought us to such an incredible church family "for such a time as this". We love every single one of you and any donation the Lord leads you to make on behalf of our little one, just know that the moment we cross the door to our home carrying our child, the one that God has said the words "I want" to, know that you were apart of making this miracle happen.
We are so excited to begin this process!! Thank you more than anything for your support and prayers. Let's bring our baby home!! We will be posting many, many updates on flourishgirlsministry.com's website to let you know where we are in the process.
Love in Jesus,
