Raising a family takes a village, which has never been more clear to me than it has become in recent years. Whether it be parents who bend over backward to help dreams come true, grandparents who will drop everything at a moment's notice to help, or friends that feel more like family, I am so fortunate to know I have a community of support, cheering me on every step of the way, on my journey to becoming a single mother.
I believe with every fiber of my existence that I have been put on this earth to be a mother. Your help, no matter what form it takes, will be met with so much gratitude.
I have always had a heart for adoption. When I learned that carrying a biological child of my own would not be possible, it became clear that adoption is the path to parenthood that I have always been destined for. Most of you probably know that I have been pursuing adoption via Foster Care for nearly two years. I have been oh-so-lucky to have loved and cared for a few precious babies during my time as a foster mother. While I am proud to have loved these children while their biological parents worked hard to turn their lives around and reunite with their babies, my heart has also shattered every time I had to say goodbye.
It is this reason, and my lifelong dream to be a mother, that has led me to pursue private adoption. Adoption is an expensive process. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily exceed $55,000. This is why I have set a goal of $40,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. Funding will be used to help cover legal fees, medical expenses of the birth mother, administrative fees to the adoption agency, and any travel that might be required to the birth mother's state of residence.
